The charminar
One of the most important place at Hyderabad is charminar. It was built in the year 1591. It is situated at the centre of the city. Four graceful minarets soar to a height of 48.7m. above the ground. It was built by Mohammed Quli Qutb Shah. Charminar has 45 prayer spaces and a mosque in it. Visitors can view the architectural splendour inside the Charminar.
Golconda Fort
One of the famous fort in India was Golconda Fort. In telugu it was called as 'Golla konda' it means shepherds hill. The origins of the fort can be traced back to the Yadava dynasty of Deogiri and the Kakatiyas of Warangal. Golconda was originally a mud fort, which passed to the Bahmani dynasty and later to the Qutb Shahis, who held it from 1518 to 1687 A.D. The glorious past of Golconda Fort is narrated effectively with matchless Sound and Light effects.
Mecca Masjid
One of the beautiful masjid at Hyderabad is Mecca Masjid. Mecca Masjid is poetry in stone, with a hall measuring 67m and soaring to a height of 54m. Fifteen graceful arches - five to each of the three sides, support the roof. Towards the southern end of the mosque lie the marble graves of members of the Asaf Jahi dynasty.
Birla Mandir
This white marble temple of Lord Venkateshwara floats on the city skyline, on Kala Pahad. The idol in the temple is a replica of the one at Tirupati.
Salar Jung Museum
The Salar Jung Museum is the largest one-man collection of antiques in the world. The museum exhibits over 35,000 objects of art like Chinese Porcelain, Aurangazeb's Sword, and Daggers belonging to Queen Noor Jehan, Emperor Jahangir & Shah Jahan, Sculpture, Indian paintings & Persian carpets.
Hussain Sagar
Hussain Sagar is a large lake in the midst of the city and was constructed in 1562 AD. Also known as Tank Bund, it connects the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. Built in the 16th century the lake was named to express the gratitude of Ibrahim Quli Qutub Shah to Hussain Shah Wali, who helped him to recover from illness.
The Nehru Zoological Park
The Nehru Zoological Park is a must for nature lovers.it is surrounded by 300 acres. It has over 250 species of animals and birds, most of which are kept in conditions as close to their natural habitats as possible. This is the first zoo to create moated enclosures for animals. The Lion Safari Park, Natural History Museum and Children's Train are the added attractions.
St. Joseph's Cathedral
The Cathedral of Saint Joseph is located in the Gun foundry area and is perhaps the most beautiful in the twin cities.
St. Mary,s Church
St. Mary's Church is a famous church located in S.D. Road at secundrabad. Mother Mary is worshiped here.
Hyderabad Botonical Garden
The first Botanical Gardens in Andhra Pradesh, spread over 120 acres. Already open to public is the first phase, with the completion of some sections. The sections include medicinal plants, timber trees, fruit trees, ornamental plants, aquatic plants and bamboos.
