Hayagriva Madhava Temple
Hayagriva Madhava Temple is situated around thirty miles from Guwahati, this Vishnu Temple is also a sacred place for the Buddhists. They believe that the lord attained Nirvana here.
Powa-Mecca
Powa mecca is situated at Side by side with the Madhav temple there is a celebrated Muslim shrine at Hajo, known as Powa-Mecca (1/4th Mecca). According to the inscription on the wall of the mosque based there, it was built by Mir Lutufullah-i-Shiraji in 1657, during the period of the Mughal emperor Shahjahan.
