Khajuraho Archaeological Museum
Khajuraho Archaeological Museum is sculptures and architectural remains of the 10th and 12th century temples. The objects reflect the influences of Hindu and Jain religions. The museum now houses more than 2000 objects. Among these some of the popular ones are the Nritta Gansha, Uma-Maheshwara, Andhakasuravadhamurti and Vaikuntha. The architecture and design of the Archaeological Museum Khajuraho is marvelous.
Dhubela Museum
Dhubela Museum is situated at 57 km far apart from Khajuraho, and it is situated in an old fort on the way to Jhansi. Dhubela Museum is famous for holding the unique collection of Bundelkhandi artifacts and a myriad of sculptures of Shakti cult. It also has several other sections such as those on clothes, armory and paintings.
Rane Falls
Rane Falls is situated at 20kms away from Khajuraho, the Ken River plunges down to a 5 km long, 30mtrs deep canyon, giving birth to the spectacular Rane Falls. The crystalline granites on the backdrop present a mesmerizing pallet of color from pink to gray.
Javari Temple
Javari Temple is one of its characteristic features. The various sculptures on the walls of the temples depict men and women in various postures. The finesse with which the images have been created imparts life into them. The interior of the Javari Temple, Khajuraho is also covered with exquisite sculptures
Ken Gharial Sanctuary
Ken Gharial Sanctuary is located at 24 Km away from Khajuraho. The fish eating crocodiles taking shelter in their natural home in the sanctuary. Chinkara, chital, wild boar, blue bull and peacock are the other species found here. It is one of the important places to visit at khajuraho.
Lakshmana stone Temple
Lakshmana stone Temple is delicately carved. In front of the temple are two open pavilions which are called mandapas. On the South is the Varaha mandapa with an image of the standing Varaha, which is the boar incarnation of Vishnu. The entire body of the statue is carved with the figures of many other Hindu gods and goddesses.
Panna National Park
Panna National Park is situated at 25km away from Khajuraho, the national park sprawls over an area of 543 sq. km. along the eastern bank of the Ken River. It is one of the wonderful places to visit at khajuraho.
