Har ki Pauri on the Ghats of River Ganges is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Haridwar. It is a popular bathing ghat. The aarti takes place every evening. An estimated 45 million people bathe here during the Kumbh mela.
Chandi devi temple is situate around 6 km away from the city of Haridwar, this temple is situated atop a mountain on the bank of river Ganga. Neel Parvat (Blue Mountain) as the mountain is called is just a 3 km trek from Chandighat. In the Hindu mythology, Goddess Chandi symbolizes power. The temple is dedicated to the Goddess who it is believed killed a demon.
